Huw James conducts a fantastic live video experiment where we prove once and for all that CO2 is denser than air. Huw takes a solid lump of CO2 and let's it sublimate into a gaseous form at the bottom of a fish tank. The best way to see that the clouds down at the bottom contain CO2, is by floating something on top of it. For definitive scientific proof, cue our favourite bubble mix. As we can see the CO2 just sits on top of the bubble of air and that is why it's so effective as a fire extinguisher. It sits on the fire, depriving it of oxygen and stays there until the flames are extinguished.
