The Vitara Brezza has defied all sales logic by being the segment bestseller with just a single mechanical setup in its model line-up. We find out if this new AMT automatic model can further expand the Brezza’s customer base. In essence, the Vitara Brezza AMT continues to be powered by the same 1.3 litre Multijet diesel engine developing an identical 89bhp and 200Nm as its manual counterpart. Transmission duties in the AMT are carried out by a 5-speed automated manual transmission that is based on the five-speed manual gearbox of the car. Alongside the unchanged power and torque figures the fuel efficiency for this automatic Vitara Brezza too remains identical as that of the manual model at 24.29 km/l.
